Ontario's Leading Provider of Safe School Transportation
Founded in West Nissouri Township (now part of Thames Center) in 1951 by a farmer named Stuart Elgie, our company’s ethics of honest and dependable service began with our first nine passengers who were driven to and from school by Stuart’s wife, Marguerite, in a converted parcel van. Within eight years, the company expanded to include four school buses and we are now proud to serve the school children across London, Middlesex, and Oxford counties.
In July of 2008, Elgie Bus Lines was acquired by the growing network of Student Transportation of Canada (STC), the Canadian division of North America’s most trusted provider of school bus transportation services, the STA Family of Companies. To learn more about our parent organization, visit here.
Today, we operate more than 200 school buses transporting more than 10,000 pupils across London, Middlesex, and Oxford counties. We also provide transportation to pupils and adults with special needs, and offer extracurricular and charter trip services. Our drivers receive regular training and are of the utmost character, and we ensure that our buses are kept in excellent mechanical condition. Our facilities include a 3-bay bus garage at our London location, along with bus yards in Thamesford and Embro.
At Elgie Bus Lines, we understand the importance of our job and we are dedicated to transporting your children in the safest manner possible, and we deeply value the positive relationships we have maintained within our local communities.
